Dispatch: Signal Snowboards at Superpark 21

words and photos: Jeep Eddy

A couple days before Superpark 21 started, the Signal Snowboards team embarked on its annual journey to Mammoth Mountain for the best on snow event of the year. Driving up HWY 395 with little to no reception for Pandora, we resorted to bumpin’ old tunes trapped in our phones from ages ago. The old school tunes trend continued as we ramped up in Mammoth for the big week ahead.

The night before Superpark started, we rounded up the crew and adventured out to the local hot springs. We became regulars at the springs, making it out 4 of the 6 days in Mammoth. They made our beat up bodies feel refreshed and ready to go even bigger.Superpark this year had every type of feature a snowboarder could literally dream of. It truly brought to life the words ‘if you can dream it, you can do it.’

The first day is generally all about digesting the overwhelmingly monstrous features, but this year, there were a lot more creative and playful options making the stoke higher than normal. Most resorts only have one feature the size of the ones at this event, but Superpark had multiple runs filled with features that would make any normal jerry shake in their boots. The Signal crew was too large to keep everyone together at all times, so everyone rode around finding their favorite features and sessioning them.

Between the seasoned Superpark riders and the dudes that have never been to anything like this before, it was refreshing to see everyone come together to figure out how to creatively ride the features. Every rider with a few Superparks under their belt pushed the new kids on the block to surpass their own expectations of themselves. From sunrise to sunset, every rider was sending it all week.

A huge thank you to the SNOWBOARDER staff along with park builders and diggers for always making this event the best, most unique week of snowboarding every year. Finally, thanks to all of the Signal riders that made the trip to Superpark 21 such an awesome time including Jake Aronson, Matt Robinson, Demetri Bales, Jack Herald, Keoni Kaimuloa, Anthony Slater, Bob Abrams, Hunter Murphy, Kyle Roles, Melissa Riitano, Liam Whiley, Danny Salazar, Dominic Edwards, Drew Elm, Danila Shipilov and Mizzzl.
