Three crews and twelve lucky amateur snowboarders are packing their bags and preparing for the biggest snowboard trip of their lives. On April 1st, the finalists from the Nike Chosen Crew Video Contest and the winners of the Chosen Series will make the trek to Silveretta Montafon, Austria for the Nike Chosen Sessions.
Upon their arrival, they will meet with top Nike Pros including Nicolas Muller, Gigi Ruff, Scotty Lago and Spencer O’Brien for a week of unprecedented snowboarding in the powder-ladened Arlberg Mountains. Here they will be unleashed to ride and prove themselves worthy of Living Like a Nike Pro.
Nike’s park crew has been working tirelessly on the Chosen course ensuring it will be one of the most progressive parks possible. The expansive area includes a technical, skate-inspired bowl, a massive jump and hip line, and a 80m ‘Nike Swoosh’ booter where riders can boost their best tricks.
This Must Be the Place, the only American Crew heading to Austria, commented how hyped they are for the opportunity. Conner Brown, the crew’s filmer said, “We all feel really lucky to be going to the finals. The park looks amazing, we are all ready to board, and none of us have been to Austria, so we’re excited for the new experience. We are stoked to make this edit, and I can’t wait to see what the final product becomes!”
Conner and his crew are charged with making an edit that best showcases their shred week in the Arlbergs. Their work will be judged by Nike Pros against Smallzinema from France and RocksonSB out of Germany. Each crew has their own unique style of snowboarding, so it will be interesting to see who uses the massive course the most creatively.
The winning AMs from the Chosen Series will take part in three “Banger Sessions” where they will hit a particular feature alongside the Nike Pro Team. After each session, edits of the action will be available for you online to tune in and vote for your favorite three riders. The three AMS with the most votes will be judged by the Nike Pros, and only one can become the Chosen.
Spencer O’Brien, Nike Pro and reigning World Slopestyle Champion is also amped for Austria and tweeted, “Nike’s doing it right. I’m getting stoked for my trip to Montafon on Saturday!!!”
The action is Austria is going to be all-time. Keep it locked on Snowboardermag.com for breaking onsite updates.
