The honorific Ms. has become accepted practice when addressing a lady without qualifying their marital status. Yet in terms of MS Superpark there is no mistaking that it signifies an unyielding commitment to progressive riding on idyllic terrain within a fun and positive atmosphere.
Seven years ago SNOWBOARDER Magazine set out to bring the top female riding talent in the world together to session a park specifically groomed to their needs. What started as the MS Superpark experiment has grown into the most prestigious gathering of girls in the world of professional snowboarding.
The stage is set for a continuation of this legacy with MS Superpark 7 Presented by Gatorade at the Keystone Resort in Summit County, Colorado. Sixty riders are on-site and ready to lap a park that is poised to bring female freestyle snowboarding to the next level. Stylish film stars like Leanne Pelosi, Darrah Reid-Mclean, Desiree Melancon and Kimmy Fasani will strap in aside celebrated contest icons including Jamie Anderson, Spencer O’Brien, Sarka Pancochova and Jenny Jones. The private Keystone Area 51 park set-up includes a rhythmic triple line of lofty tabletops, several technical jibs, a double overhead quarterpipe and gaps galore.
Much of what makes MS Superpark a success is that it stands in stark contrast to the competitions that monopolize a pro’s season. At MS Superpark these elite ladies are afforded the opportunity to flex their talents on their own terms without having to appease a handful of judges. In turn, without the burden of the bib and the pressure to achieve the peak of a podium bonds blossom and stoke ensues. The result is a week full of riders pushing each other while pushing their limits.
