The first part in Volcom’s “IP2″ project is launching Monday, September 3rd and it’s premiering with none other than Big Bear am and up-and-coming star Daniel Brown. We had the chance to ask Daniel a few questions regarding Volcom’s new project and what it was like filming a breakthrough video part last winter. Read up, and keep an eye out for his “IP2″ part premiering exclusively on snowboardermag.com on September 3rd.
T. Bird: What’s the general idea behind Volcom’s IP2?
Daniel: Individually Produced Parts. We get to put it together. It’s what we’re feeling, what we got done over the winter. It’s what we do and what we wanted to film.
This is your first major video part. What came as the biggest surprise while filming a full segment?
Probably all the traveling. Get to somewhere, come back, go somewhere else, all that travel. That was a change, but you just gotta go with it.
Where was your footage shot?
Michigan, a lot of Colorado, and Big Bear, California.
Were you working full-time with Pat Barazza?
Yeah! Me, Pat, and Dylan Alito. That’s a strong crew right there.
Pat’s one of the foremost filmers on the come up in snowboarding. What was it like working with him?
Pat’s a cool guy. I felt like he and I came together to make something really cool. We’re both young and up-and-coming so it was cool. We learned a lot from each other.
How about Dylan?
Dylan’s a crazy character. He’s a wild cannon and he loves to snowboard. That’s all I need, man!
Whose IP2 part are you most looking forward to seeing?
I’m looking forward to seeing Dan Brisse’s. Not gonna lie ’cause I know it’s gonna be epic.
