Each year, Bear Mountain's Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails kicks off the official countdown to the start of the So Cal snowboarding season. The carnival-like atmosphere at Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails–which features entertainment and giveaways from the biggest board, boot, binding, and outerwear manufacturers in the world–is a sideshow to the main event, which is the much celebrated jib showdown. On September 21st, 2013, the top talents in the rail scene will venture to Bear Mountain, California for a chance at performing in front of the largest crowd of any single snowboarding event in the United States, as well as the opportunity to join the prestigious list of HDHR title holders, which includes Keegan Valaika, Lucas Magoon, Chas Guldemond, Jed Anderson, and a grip of other, equally iconic riders. The 10th annual Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails is set to begin in The Scene at Bear Mountain at 2pm on Saturday, September 21st. Among the 40 confirmed pros set to compete are Dylan Thompson, Zak Hale, Lucas Magoon, Brandon Hobush, Dylan Alito, and Scott Vine, while JP Walker, Joe Sexton, Chris Bradshaw, Dave Downing, and Scott Stevens will be the official judges.
Those who can't make the trek to Bear Mountain on the 21st needn't fret, because you can see all of the action online with the live webcast of the entire 2013 Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails being broadcast exclusively on snowboardermag.com. Bird" Monterosso will be joined by the brash and iconic Chris Grenier to provide a steady steam of frank and informed commentary.
