JAY, VT. (Jan.16, 2013) Burton Snowboards, together with Jay Peak Resort, today celebrated the grand opening of a new youth-focused snowboarding park, the Burton Playtime Riglet Park, designed specifically for children as young as three-years-old to learn how to snowboard. The Burton Playtime Riglet Park, situated amidst Jay Peak Resort’s New Mountain Learning Center in northern Vt., features fun, interactive stations themed to Disney·Pixar’s Toy Story. Kids will have the chance to learn balance, weight transfer, edging and freestyle basics by maneuvering over, under, around and through sculpted terrain and a cast of kid-sized, wood carvings of treasured Toy Story characters including Woody, Buzz, Rex, Jesse, the little green army men and the aliens.
Products from Burton’s Disney·Pixar Toy Story collection will be available for purchase at Jay Peak Resort including youth-sized Burton Chopper boards featuring different original graphics from the beloved movie. Little ones can rock Toy Story characters on their outerwear and layering pieces with the Boy’s Minishred Fray Jacket, the Girl’s Charm Snowboard Jacket, the Minishred Bib Pants and the Minishred top and pant first layer.

It’s a must-see destination for families and kids who want to learn how to snowboard this winter.”
The park features four unique on-snow components inspired by Toy Story including:
- The Claw Zone: In their first stop, kids will enter the claw where they will learn the basics of balance and weight shifting with an eased stop and return provided by rollers and a return wall.
- The Imagination Station: The second station features a limbo stick for flexing and extending, a teeter totter and an ollie toy to help kids perform their first ollie on a snowboard.
- Rex’s Rodeo: In the third stop on the tour, kids will get a chance to take a break from their boards and hang out on a Rex-themed playground with a fun area to practice dropping in.
- The Star Command Zone: The highlight and final stop in the park allows kids to take their riding to the next level by learning direction change, edge control and beginner turns with mini bank features.
Kids will also be provided with Riglet Learning vests that showcase Buzz Lightyear and an alien and have a special fabric handle on the back that allows teachers to help guide and control students.

A full-day experience at the park includes Burton LTR gear rental, lunch and plenty of time to ride in the Toy Story themed on-snow stations for $99/day. Upon completion of the program each participant will receive a certificate and become an official Space Ranger.
