DC’S TORSTEIN HORGMO NABS A FIRST PLACE FINISH IN SLOPESTYLE AT FIRST DEW TOUR STOP
December 22, 2010-(Huntington Beach, CA)- Congratulations to DC pro snowboarder Torstein Horgmo who took first place in Slopestyle this past weekend at the first Winter Dew Tour stop.
“I’m so stoked to have come back from an ankle injury and chillin’ all summer, and be able to put down a run like that at the first Winter Dew Tour stop,” said Torstein. “It was a bit sketchy with all the snow falling and slow speeds, so I’m glad it all worked out. It’s a great way for me to start out the season.”
Known for having a bag full of tricks in his back pocket, Torstein’s winning run consisted of an impressive lip slide to switch back lip to cab double cork 1080 to switch back 900 to backside 270 on the rainbow, to backside 720 and finally frontside double cork 1080. This was the first time in competition he had laid down a cab double cork 1080 and a front double cork 1080, which helped him to score of 96.50 and secure a first place finish.
This was the first stop of the 2011 Winter Dew Tour. Look for Torstein to compete at the next tour stop on January 20 – 23rd at the Killington Resort in Killington, VT before heading to Aspen, CO to compete in the Winter X Games beginning January 28th.
