HUNTER, N.Y. (March 17, 2013) – The third annual Hunter Mountain x Flour City Hell Track event on March 16 had a treacherous course that was a hell of a lot of fun! All the locals, and the ThirtyTwo crew came out to party, ride the course and watch the event carnage on this sunny East Coast day.
Hell Tracks aren’t for the faint of heart; Hunter Mountain’s Hell Track took many riders down and even broke one shredder’s board. The 55 snowboarders in the contest each took two runs and kept their best time. The 15 riders with the fastest times advanced to the final where they raced head-to-head.
1st – Josh Rosen: 43.46 (on left)
2nd – Eric Goldman: 46:68 (center)
3rd – Walter Promnitz: 47:43 (right)
The prize purse was made up of more than $3,000 in cash and prizes. First place took home $600 cash, a ThirtyTwo x DGK snowboard, Union bindings, Ashbury goggles, Fred (water) and a ton of swag. The runner-up got $300 in cash, a ThirtyTwo x DGK snowboard, Union bindings, Ashbury goggles, Fred (water) and a bunch of free product. Third place walked away with $100 cash, a ThirtyTwo x DGK board, Union bindings, Ashbury goggles, Fred (water) and lots of free swag. Capita, Coal, Crab Grab, Poler Stuff and Howl all provided swag for the event.
Grassroots events like the Hunter Mountain x Flour City Hell Track keep the scene alive, and yesterday’s contest wouldn’t have happened without the support of CCS, ThirtyTwo, Fred (water), Crab Grab, Ashbury, Union, Coal, Capita, Shut, Poler, Hoods to Woods, PBR, etnies, East and Howl.
