The I AM SNOWBOARDING art show landed in Portland, Oregon last Friday at Studio Nemo. The exhibit, hosted by Trevor Graves and Nemo Design, will be open to the public until January 22nd, Monday to Friday, hours: 10am to 4pm. For more info and location go to StudioNemo.com.
Portland is the third stop in the I AM SNOWBOARDING traveling art tour, and the NW has opened her arms wide. Opening day started at 4:45 am with a visit from the KOIN channel 6 morning news team, where Trevor Graves was interviewed live for the 5 and 6 am newscasts. Later that evening the quiet gallery transformed into a crowded and lively space teeming with love as over 500 people came through to view the exhibit, catch up with old and new friends, hear music from DJ JOELSKOOL and Kandi Coded, and pay homage to fallen friend Jeff Anderson.
Trevor Graves summary of the evening on StudioNemo.com is a must read.
The crowd was a line up of snowboardingʼs past present and future with legends Terry Kidwell and Bud Fawcett walking the halls with Jamie Lynn, Dave Seoane, Jake Blattner, Jeff Kramer, Colin Langlois, Brian Regis, Matt Donahue, Chris Brunkhardt, Nick Russian, Chris Owen, Tim Zimmerman and many many more.
Burton snowboards came correct, donating four snowboards for the generous raffle along with another board from LibTech and overflowing boxes of goods from Vans, Volcom, Electric, Coal, SkullCandy and Exit Real World.
After the raffle, Jamie Lynnʼs Seattle rock band, Kandi Coded rocked the house. It was a special night to see them as they are just releasing a new album through Volcom records and setting off on the Blizzard Bizarre tour.
