The East Coast has long been a place to stake your claim while driving an edge into the cold, hardpack ice and snow. A legion of legendary riders have risen from the subzero windchill of the New England states and taken their icy immunity to cities far away, staking claim in the streets. Loon Mountain, New Hampshire has been the stomping grounds for these riders for years because of their park-building abilities. In this tradition of crafting creative features and putting on the best contests, Loon is once again holding the East Coast’s banner end-of-season event, Street Cred, on Sunday, April 14, 2013.
Building off of the incredible success last year, Street Cred returns this spring to raise the competitive bar again. With the help of Red Bull, the Loon Mountain Park Staff has created a plethora of never-before-seen street-style features in order to create a landmark course inspired by rail missions. Wallrides, close-outs, next-level pole jams, and more will populate the Little Sister Park as the best riders throw down to prove their mettle.
Come ride, come watch, and come enjoy the spring day with everyone at Loon. The grill will be firing, dogs will be cooking, and tunes will be blasting, because, if there is one thing that Loon is good at in addition to building epic parks, it’s celebrating in good weather.
Even better, for riders hungry for more than hotdogs, the prize purse is a big one. In addition to the respect and admiration of the snowboarding community, $2,000 in cold, hard cash is up for grabs in both the men’s and women’s divisions. So get to Loon on Sunday, April 14th, to ride a next-level course in the East Coast’s biggest end of season event.
