Picnic In The Park hit Devil’s Head Resort in Merrimac, Wisconsin this past mid-March weekend with one thing in mind: To end the Midwest shred season with a bang! Mother Nature blanketed the Midwest with some early wet spring weather which didn’t seem to stop hundreds of riders from descending on the Midwest’s most anticipated yearly snowboard event and party. Riders from all over called Devil’s Head Resort home for the weekend.
Although Picnic in the Park always incorporates some of the same elements every year like a creative new park set up and infectious party atmosphere, other elements change to keep things fresh. This year, Picnic welcomed the Red Bull Buttercup to offer another dimension of snowboarding to the mix. All participants had the option to cruise the park all day, shoot some SnoDice, enter the Buttercup, party on the deck or all of the above.
StepChild Snowboard’s Joe Sexton flew in for the weekend to shred and debut his new Pro Model board at the party. Joe had hundreds of fans on hand eager for autographs and a glimpse at his new deck, which doesn’t hit StepChild dealers until Fall 2010. No Request Sounds featuring Kid Cut Up and Why B lit up the beats and kept the party rolling hard well into the early hours.
Thanks again to all of the event partners: 686, StepChild, Flux, Elm, Drop, Cilla, BlueBird, SnoDice, RedBull, No Request Sounds and Devil’s Head Resort.
