evo is one of my favorite snowboard shops out of Seattle, so I was really excited to check out the opening of their new store in Portland, Oregon. The new location in Southeast PDX is housed in a really cool building that is two-stories tall and also has an art gallery attached. Tickets had sold out for the opening, so when I showed up, the line to get in wrapped around the whole building. The grand opening party was packed from wall to wall, and there were several bars littered throughout the two floors. Later that night, there was a surprise musical guest. I heard rumors that the musician would be a rapper, and it turns out the GZA showed up on stage and played a pretty insane hour-long set. GZA gave a shout out to 'Ol Dirty Bastard, as it was his birthday. The turnout was unbelievable, and I can see how this shop will be similar to the Seattle store, a community hub for outdoor enthusiasts to gather and a great place to pick up your favorite gear.
