Last weekend, Burton Snowboards brought the US Open Qualifiers back to Seven Springs, Pennsylvania. While the staff at SNOWBOARDER was tied up in Denver along with most of the snowboard industry, our former intern and good friend, Mark Clavin was enjoying some time on snow at Springs and snapped these photos of the events that went down in PA over the weekend. In addition to the qualifiers for the big show in Vail in March, Burton brought their new, rad grassroots event, Party in Your Park to the newly dubbed Industrial Parkway at the base of Springs. Check out the photos and watch the US Open at Vail March 3-8, 2014 to see the top riders from the qualifiers throw down.

New for this year, the US Open Qualifiers also featured a juniors heat for kids 13 and under for both slopestyle and halfpipe.
Guests at Seven Springs had no shortage of excitement during the US Open Qualifiers weekend. In addition to watching world-class snowboarding, visitors attended the Burton Mountain Festival, which offered riders a full day of on-snow activities, including free Burton 2014 product demos, music, and a traveling Riglet park designed for the smallest snowboarders. In the Sponsor Village, spectators also took photos at MINI’s Photo Booth and played the Spin to Win game for a chance to win a Burton snowboard, played games by Paul Mitchell, and enjoyed samples from Mountain Dew, Bear Naked and Chipotle. And on Saturday, February 1st, the ‘Party in Your Park’ finals, a park and rail contest, took place in the all-new Industrial Parkway at Seven Springs. The competition showcased some progressive urban riding with Benjamin Milan taking first place, a cash prize and an invite to the Burton Rail Days in Tokyo, Japan later this year.
A special thank you to all of our sponsors: MINI, Mountain Dew®, Paul Mitchell, Bear Naked, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Seven Springs, and the World Snowboard Tour.
