It's no secret now that the Pacific Northwest breeds some of the most talented snowboarders on Earth, and it's definitely no secret that Blair Habenicht is one of those snowboarders. Aside from being one of the most talented riders on the Absinthe roster, Blair has become one of SNOWBOARDER Magazine's most trusted contributors. You see, when Blair's not straight-lining AK chutes, he's penning some of the most prolific stories in our sport, and as a multi-talented rider/writer, Blair has quickly become one of our go-to guys when we need someone who can both document and destroy everything around him. In this edit, watch Habenicht annihilate AK and pick apart his home state of Washington with Absinthe, and be sure to pick up a copy of SNOWBOARDER Magazine starting in late-August, as Blair's prose will more than likely be found inside.Read More
Justin Hostynek and Absinthe Films have been breaking trail in the cinematic realm for nearly two decades and in that time they have maintained a steadfast desire to broadcast the snowboarding and snowboarders that they are inspired by in a way that best represents the riding. It looks like "Resonance" continues that creedo and more. Stars like Nicolas Müller, Gigi Rüf, Wolle Nyvelt and Bode Merrill are joined by Absinthe newcomers Eric Jackson, Brandon Cocard, Manuel Diaz and Scotty Lago. Even Danny Kass has signed on for "Resonance". This teaser does its job by causing viewers to salivate and rewind each trick in the hopes of getting a glimpse at one more frame of the insane action before being able to see the full movie. The full clips of Scotty Lago's FS 3 cork to late method, Cocard's 100 yard 50-50 or Bode's BS 7 one-footer can't come quick enough! After 12 films, absinthe's video this year, "Twel2ve" proved to be the best one yet. A perfect blend of incredible powder riding and street ham-bones. The cinematography consisted of Alaska heli filming, zip line follow cams, and raw street footage. Nicolas Muller and Gigi Ruff never cease to blow minds with innovating natural terrain and two of the best styles to ever grace snowboarding. Dan Brisse and Johnny Paxson have incredible parts that include massive double corks, heavy street spots, and two of the most horrific bails caught on film. Mat Schaer, the young buck from switzerland, has some awesome tricks in his debut section. Debari and Blair Hebenicht showcased gnarly big mountain lines. Not to mention standout parts from Wolle, Boulanger, DCP, Solberg, and DeMarchi. It was the hometown hero Bode Merrill's big night and he stole the show with a two song ender. His part consisted of two sections, a back country segment and a street segment. Each one contains face melting hammers all the way through. The night ended with ice cold beers and loud "BODE" chants on the 50 person tour bus back to Salt Lake City.
