Park City opening day photo gallery

Park City Mountain Resort opened for the 2012/Armageddon season this past weekend, and Mother Nature blessed those in attendance with a healthy liquid dose of snow. Rain.

Some would say that’s not the best way to start a season; but for me, and many others, snowboarding, shooting photos, filming, partying, laughing, and people watching are amongst my favorite things on this earth, regardless of the weather, so what more could one ask for? The lifts are running, Terrain Park Manager Jeremy Cooper and his crew of diggers built a great park, and the best is yet to come. *cobra dogs *mini park *Sundance cougars vs. lick the cat.

Basically it was a couple of memorable days of jumping, sliding, carving, riding chairlifts, laughing, and smiling that will quickly blend into the beautiful picture we are going to call the winter of 2012/2013. Looking forward to seeing you out there.

Dew Tour 2012: Snowbasin Pipe Finals

Words & Photos: Sean Kerrick Sullivan

The Dew Tour made its third and final stop at Snowbasin, UT over the weekend, and what a weekend it was. With some of your typical big dogs elsewhere at other contests, the young and the hungry got their chance to shine as the podium was finally in reach. I mean common, do you really want to drop in before Shaun White? On another note, word is Snowbasin's contract is up with Alli Sports, leaving people asking, well then where is stop 3 gonna be? Where are the championships gonna be? Rumor has it that Alli may convert all their energy towards a SINGLE contest, thus making much better use of their resources, and getting on a level to compete with the X-Games. I asked a few competitors how they would feel about a move like that, but all I want to know is what Bridges and Terje think of that......

Dew Tour Superpipe Results:

Mens:
1. Louie Vito
2. Iouri Podladtchikov
3. Spencer Shaw

Womens:
1. Kelly Clark
2. Gretchen Bleiler
3. Xuetong Cai

Park City Opening Day 2011

Park City Mountain Resort opened 8 runs and 3 chairlifts on Saturday, November 19th for their official opening day. With approximately 30 features, including a smooth jump courtesy of Jeremy Cooper’s hard working park crew, the only word to use here is solid. 6 inches of fresh snow fell on the preceding evening making conditions prime for cruising, jumping, jibbing, and hollering at cougars. “If this is how good PC is on opening day, then I definitely don’t need to spend a month in Breck” said @SageKotsenberg in between instagram sessions, “I can ride a perfect park here at Park City with all my friends, the rails and the jump are so fun, and its only going to get better.”

First Snow Of The Season – Riding In Utah

Words & Photos: Sean Kerrick Sullivan

A lush summer in Utah had nearly became a certified Indian Summer when weathermen suddenly spotted a weather pattern that had them calling out a significant winter storm almost a week in advance. I was barefoot, in boardshorts, fishing from a raft at the time, and the idea of snow hardly seemed plausable. Like usual, the weather guys were wrong. They called for a storm to hit Northern Utah and the Wasatch Front on Wednesday evening, and guess what, it rolled in a day early. By 7am on Wednesday, October 6 2011, a foot of snow had already fallen high in the mountains. Ted Borland, Matty Mo, Dylan Thompson, Chris Grenier, Bode Merrill and a grip of others were on it immediately………just like you’d expect.
