Back in the early 90′s, the snowboard scene in Utah was based in Little Cottonwood Canyon at Snowbird. Legends like Andy Hetzel, Tina & Mike Basich, and many more called it home.
Meanwhile, one canyon over in Big Cottonwood a new crop of snowboard stars were emerging. Check out Snowboarder’s archived footage from 1994 of Capita Snowboard’s owner Blue Montgomery and crew at Brighton. Classic footage! Gotta love all the no grab shifty’s that were so popular at that time.
Besides Alec Wheeler, Greg Pearson, and Joe Stalzer, who are featured in this edit, who were some of the other rippers at Brighton during this period? The first name that pops into my mind is George Johnston. Got any other names?
