686 Seconds Feature Presentation: East Coast Roadtrip

Cam Pierce, Riley Nickerson, Ian Hart, John Murphy, Max Lyons, Ryan Tarbell, and Austin Young.

It's no secret that the East Coast had one of its most abundant snow years in recorded history during the winter of 2015. While this offered up the opportunity for snowboarders of all stripes to migrate to New England and New York in search of previously untouched steel, it also afforded East Coast-bred crews, displaced by peak size and inconsistent powder to the West, the chance to head back home and revisit spots in their former locales. For the 686 team, the conditions were perfect and the opportunities were plentiful. Eastern Seaboard sons Cam Pierce, Riley Nickerson, Ian Hart, John Murphy, and Max Lyons were joined by SoCal's Ryan Tarbell and Minnesotan Austin Young as they sought out inner city transition and urban affectations. Filmer Ian Post captured the crew as they headed first to New York, braved freezing temps in Quebec, found good snow in Ohio, boarded in the streets of Boston, and raised hell at every stop along the way. This deeper look into the shots that make up 686 Seconds, filled with misses and close calls, alternate angles, b-roll and more is not only a vicarious view into a team trip to the classic winter havens of the eastern half of the United States, but a raw glimpse at what goes into the storytelling of snowboarding when making a movie. Enjoy.
