words and photos: Mike Yoshida

As you may or may not know, Chris Brunkhart, one of the most prolific photographers to document snowboarding in the 90's, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. In hopes of helping him with medical costs, Nemo Design in Portland put together a silent auction of art and photographs called P.S.FuckCancer. The turnout of support and amount of amazing art was overwhelming. Nemo headquarters has a long hallway that lead into a large studio room, where every single bit of wall space was covered in iconic photos and art pieces. Some of the artists and photographers included were Bryan Iguchi, Cole Barash, Mike Parillo, Trevor Graves, Andy Wright, Lucas Beuafort and on and on. I had to walk through the crowded hallway several times just to see everything. Not only was there a ton of cool art to check out, but it was also a great event to bring together the snow community. In total, the event raised over $50,000 for Chris. Thanks for everyone who came out to the event, and especially those who bought art or photos.
