Copper Mountain Hosts First Stop in Grand Prix

Copper Mountain Hosts First Stop in Grand Prix

The Grand Prix opens for the second straight year at Copper Mountain in Colorado's Summit County Dec. 11-12. Copper has a longstanding history with the Grand Prix tour, having hosted events in 1998 and 1999. Fans can play spectator at the first of the Olympic qualification events in comfort at the mountain's base area, thanks to the location of Copper's twenty-two foot superpipe's base, which is just steps from the Village at Copper and Burning Stones Plaza. Diverse terrain and more than 19,000 square feet of park and pipe, along with a plethora of progression tools in the new Woodward at Copper Barn, puts Copper smack in the middle of snowboarding development.

Just seventy-five miles from Denver, Copper is known for having the early-season snow necessary to open the first superpipe of the season in the U.S., and continually providing the best conditions for riders to compete in. And, to top it all off, the action in Copper will continue when the sun goes down as the mountain hosts a Paul Mitchell Progression Session under the lights.
