This past season I had the opportunity and the support to step out of competing in the halfpipe all season in order to try to chase a little bit of winter. I love competing and I am a competitor at heart, but I also truly love every aspect of snowboarding: hitting all sorts of different features, hiking for my turns, and of course, riding lots of powder. I think this is what is so great about snowboarding, that it gives us so the chance to experience so many different things and challenge ourselves in so many different ways, and I wanted to truly take advantage of that.

My outlook on this winter was to branch out and ride some different terrain, hang with different people, travel to some new places, and tomahawk as many times as it took to finally land. My season ended up taking me on some amazing adventures with some all-time riders. The highlights included a trip to Italy with the Full Moon crew, a trip to CMH Heli in Galena with the GoPro crew, and to Banff with the SFD crew.

I learned a lot this year, tomahawked even more, had some of the best pow runs of my life, and scared myself daily. While a picture is worth a thousand words, I am not sure these photos can even come close to sharing the fun that was had and all the snowboarding that took place. I finished this season with a fresh outlook, more inspired and than ever to snowboard on anything and everything.
