Dispatches: adidas Rides Russia by Rail

The warm train looks so inviting compared the freezing siberian train station. The stations always smelt of burning coal and pollution. Not so different than living in Salt lake and it’s clean air.
We got on a train to find this gem crumpled up under the seat. Just a mellow list of call girls you can find around the country. It was weird this particular train cart had a bunch of toilet paper all over the floor.
Time flys when your having fun. like drawing pictures of the women on the train who looks like jabba the hut from star wars.
Sunset on Forest I think this was shot half way through our 58 hour train ride. Mellow couple of days
Oh this women. She charged us what she wanted for 2 days at the restaurant. At first she hated us but by the end she was a Russian grandmother to us. So kind and willing to give us second hand smoke all day.
Typical lunch on the train. Some bread some meat and candy. I’m pretty sure I ate more candy on the train than I have in the last 5 plus years.
The last evoke know to man was spotted at the border of Mongolia and Russia. Just look at him staring into his future.

Forest and a large bird. If you’ve ever seen discovery channel you maybe have seen these birds hunt small foxes for the Mongolian herders. This thing was huge.
Keegan and bikers. We were hanging out near a dry creek when we saw these people cruise by. Bikers with a large van blasting music. Their version of the gym minus the meat heads.
Baby. This photo is creepy. Kid lost a doll and….
These guys we saw on tour of an old Mongolian palace. Not sure who they are but their looking good! Fat is back
This building is the emperors old place from back in the day. No photos were allowed to be shot so literally was shooting from the hip on this on
You can buy anything you want at Russian swap meets including the hats that comes with the mannequins.
Black market chain saws and generators. sounds sketchy. I wonder what kind of warranty they offer?
When your at the black market you have to watch for pick pockets and wolf heads.
Or you can get a gutted eagle. Totally illegal here in the states but a go in Mongolia
Trains planes and automobiles. That should be the title of the story. Lots of trains

Last winter, Forest Bailey, Keegan Valaika, Jonas Michilot and photographer Bob Plumb logged over a 100 hours worth of train rides across Russia, searching for Siberian snow. The full story of the adidas crew and their Transsiberian train ride can be found in the January issue of SNOWBOARDER Magazine and on Friday, November 14, the video of the trip will be released on Snowboarder.com. These are the behind-the-scenes photos of the adventure, which are exotic and foreign and full of the overwhelming inebriation of wanderlust. All aboard.
