Killington Resort has kicked off winter today, after cold temperatures and a dutiful team of snowmakers allowed for a solid blanket of snow on two of the Vermont resort’s trails. It’s official, the 2015-16 winter is on! A grip of the Northeast’s snowboarding population flocked to Killington to strap in for the first time of the season and get their feet back beneath them in the mini-park that was set up. Killington always does a great job ensuring there are a few rail features ready to go as soon as the mountain is open. While we weren’t lucky enough to be in crew making turns today, Mike Garceau and the Killington crew snapped some photos so we can live vicariously through the ample snow that was shredded. Check out the above photos and get yourself up to Vermont so you can capitalize on this awesome, October opening.

Current lift ticket and trail info can be found on Killington’s website.
