Over the past few years the moniker Spencer Schubert has become synonymous with a breed of snowboarding that is hammer-heavy and proper while also being irreverent and at times, ridiculous. This is an unusual combination that this Oregon-raised-now-SLC-local manifests with a steady ease whenever he straps in, making Spenny one of the most fun to watch up and comers shaping snowboarding today. This year, Spencer released his heaviest video part to date, landing ender in The SNOWBOARDER Movie: Foreword and sufficiently introducing himself to anyone who hadn’t yet laid eyes on his must-see segments in either Lick the Cat or High Cascade edits. But long before he was lanky, Spencer was sixteen years old and filming with friend Cameron Fair in the streets of their hometown for his first video part in local Bend movie, A Little Somethin’. Seeing as his Foreword ender will premiere online tomorrow, it’s the perfect time to look backward at where Spenny’s film career began. Enjoy Spencer Schubert’s My First Video Part presented by Lick the Cat.

Says Spencer, “this part is out of a local Bend, Oregon video called A Little Somethin’ made by my buddy Cameron Fair. Cameron and I went to the same high school and became friends and started filming. It was filmed the 2009-10 season while I was 16, a junior in high school and Cam was a senior. We filmed mainly around the streets of Bend, Mt. Bachelor sidecountry, and one trip to Nebraska during our winter break. I  just filmed my fifth video part last year for Foreword. Thanks Cam for being super motivated and having that dope truck.”
