No snowboarder--male or female--leaves as much of themselves behind in the aftermath of a session as Jess Kimura does on a regular basis. The struggle to exceed expectations, self-imposed or otherwise, is hard to relate to on this level, yet it contextualizes how Jess arrived at being one of the most acclaimed women's riders of all time. To people like Kimura, pain is temporary and a full part is everlasting. I'd say Jess was a last-minute addition to SFD, except she has way more than sixty seconds in the movie. – Pat Bridges
