White Hot American Summer: Odds and Ends

This Australian crew has this series going called “Baw Baw’ding” here are episodes one and two from the series and this is what they have to say about it, “Theres a tiny little mountain only 2 and a half hours from Melbourne yet far removed from triple corks and vibey cliques known as Mount Baw Baw. Lift tickets are cheap as chips and the whole place is a terrain park. Baw Bawding aims to shed some light on this little oasis throughout the winter of 2010. Presented by Forum, and featuring whoever is around at the time, Baw Baw’ding will bring you at least 8 episodes of honest, good times in the snow. We used our very own elbow grease and dirt in our fingernails to bring you the first episode, and while the riding is far from next level, the vibe is pretty much all time. We hope you like it and will consider wasting another 3 minutes of your life next time we make one.”

Here is some footage from when the Forum International team (which included Andreas Wiig, Pat Moore, Daniel Ek, Nic Sauve, Aleksander Oestreng, and Luka Jeromel) spent some time up in 2 Alpes for the Forum Summer Camp.

A snowboard camp in Colorado during the summer? We were also wondering how that was possible. But Woodward at Copper has seemed to pull it off. Not only do they have an indoor training facility fully equipped with foam pits, trampolines, and a skate park…. but they managed to save up enough snow to be able to snowboard. Here are two edits from the summer there so far.

About White Hot American Summer:
With all the action going on at summer camps these days, SNOWBOARDER Magazine decided that we would condense all of this content into a convenient weekly post for each different camp that we like to call, "White Hot American Summer." Ok, so we know not all the summer camps are in "America." Some are in Canada, some are in Argentina, but that's still North or South America right? Good enough for us. Check in every week for videos and photos from the places you wish you were. High alpine. Hard landings. Soft snow.
