Name Droppin’— K2’s Taro Tamai Snowsurfer Boots

"Big cliffs, steep couloirs, going bigger, higher, further…. Seeing those keywords repeatedly in magazines and movies, I had a feeling that snowboarding gears were evolving toward one confined direction. What I have been trying to express with my board design is that diversity is a key element in any kind of evolution, and that includes snowboarding boots. How much has riding been restricted by the limited range of motion of stiff boots? How come high-end boots need to be stiff and low-end boots soft? Why should everything be pointing in one direction, instead of having a broader spectrum and pursuing the possibilities of all types of riding? It would be a lie to say that there’s a magical gear that fits any and every snowboarder. K2’s TT Snowsurfer boots are, of course, not a pair of magic. They are simply a pair of soft, well-built, high-end boots and are made for riders that has been struggling riding with stiff, motion-restricting conventional boots. "—Taro Tamai
