Toutant and Reid battling for Swatch TTR World No. 1.  New TTR Top 5 on the horizon.
In the wake of the 5Star Burton New Zealand Open where minds were blown and snowboarding history was made in the halfpipe last week, riders will make the jump over to Australia for the 4Star Stylewars competition at Falls Creek.  In its seventh year running, the Stylewars event will kick off on Monday, August 24th 2009 with three days of jam format competition on the massive slopestyle course where riders will be vying for the coveted Stylewars Grand Master title and one 4Star Swatch TTR result.

The rider list is full of talent with the likes of Sebastien Toutant (CAN), Charles Reid (CAN), Danny Kass (USA), Mikkel Bang (NOR) and Marko Grilc (SLO) all confirmed for the legendary Australian event.  Local Aussie riders will also be in the mix with rippers Jye Kearney, former Grand Master Ryan Tiene and Nathan Perry all looking to defend their home turf.

Current Swatch TTR World Tour leader, Mason Aguirre (USA), will not be making an appearance at Stylewars, which will leave the door open for Charles Reid and Sebastien Toutant to take over the top spot.  Reid, current World No. 2 on the TTR World Ranking List, will be defending his Grand Master title from the 2008 event and will also be looking to beat out fellow Canadian, Toutant, for the chance to take over the World No. 1 position.  Toutant will be tough to take down after his amazing slopestyle win last week at the New Zealand Open, and will be seeking his first Grand Master title and the opportunity to move into World No. 1.

Other riders setup to make moves on the Swatch TTR Ranking List are Eric Willett (USA) and Sage Kotsenburg (USA) looking to move into the Top 5, Danny Kass (USA) who could break into the Top 10 and Marko Grilc (SLO) who could rise into the Top 20.

Keep your browser pointer to for daily updates from Falls Creek as Stylewars unfolds August 24th-26th.  And, keep an eye out for Swatch TTR video news updates after the event wraps up.
