Anna Gasser Wins Women’s Slope and Team DC Takes the Team Challenge—Dew Tour 2018

The 2018 Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Colorado kicked off today with the first two snowboard events under sunny skies and calm winds with women's slopestyle finals and the snowboard team final. The women got things going in the morning it this year, the Dew Tour organizers switched up the format and instead of running slopestyle as one full-pull course, the event was divided into two separate categories: jumps first and then a separate rail session with combined scores from both deciding the results.

The surprise of the day came in the form of Jamie Anderson finishing outside the podium in fourth place as she couldn't put a run together to crack the top three. However, it was an amazing day for Enni Rukajarvi, Julia Marino and Anna Gasser who took home third, second and first respectively. Anna's two double corks in one run made history and she earned the win today. It was an insane event in unreal conditions and a well-earned podium for these three gals.

In the afternoon, the team event took the stage, with CAPiTA, DC, Salomon, Burton, Nitro and Rome facing off in a three-part contest comprised of modified superpipe, a rail jam and a jump line, with each team choosing one rider to represent their brand in each event. Ultimately, it was DC who topped the field, with Toby Miller slaughtering the modified superpipe, Mons Roisland taking top honors in the jump section and Sebbe DeBuck backing them up in the rail session. CAPiTA's team of Chase Josey, Nik Baden and Johnny O'Connor took second and Rome's Rene Rinnekangas, Stale Sandbech and Frank Jobin took third.
