The West Coast drought has been the catalyst for a host of fires up and down the western seaboard and one of the most recent areas to be set ablaze is dangerously close to Snow Summit in Big Bear Lake. Just after 12pm on Sunday, the fire broke out, but luckily cooler temperatures and lower humidity have kept the flames from growing. The latest news says that the fire is 50% contained (update), but diligent firefights still have much to do. Resident bans will be lifted this afternoon.
