WINTER STORM HITS HEAVENLY WITH TWO FEET OVERNIGHT
WITH MORE TO COME!
Heavenly Mountain Resort, Calif./Nev. – December 7, 2009 – Lake Tahoe's first big winter storm rolled through the area last night, dropping over two feet of snow on Heavenly Mountain Resort (www.skiheavenly.com). Sources from the mountain reported that an additional four to six inches have fallen since this morning's snow total reading, bringing totals above 9,000 feet to 30 inches.
Heavenly and Lake Tahoe have officially welcomed the El Nino winter as heavy snowfall is expected to continue throughout the day. Forecasts call for a break in the snow Tuesday and Wednesday with another winter snowstorm predicted to begin Thursday that will last through the weekend and could leave another three feet of snow behind it.
Heavenly expects that this snowstorm will enable the resort to continue opening more terrain throughout the week. Winter is here and with the cold temperatures the snow quality is excellent and the conditions are phenomenal.
