NSP Hires New Education Director

Lakewood, Colo. – Darcy Hanley has been hired as the education director of the National Ski Patrol (NSP). Hanley will begin working for NSP on October 18.

“I am very pleased to announce that Darcy Hanley has accepted the position of director of education,” said NSP Executive Director Tim White. “As a professional educator and accomplished patroller, she has the background and experience to do great things for the organization.”

Hanley will be relocating to Denver from Cincinnati, where she has been working as a business development manager for Information Design. Prior to that, she worked as the principal of Kings Local School District, where she initiated programs to improve test scores and was awarded excellent school status seven times.

Hanley has been an NSP member since 1990. She patrolled at Perfect North Slopes, and was awarded National Appointment Number 10740. She has served as the Central Division Senior Program supervisor, is a Level 2 PSIA ski instructor and Level 2 Avalanche instructor, and served as the assistant patrol director at Perfect North Slopes from 1992-2000.

“This has afforded me a wonderful opportunity,” said Hanley enthusiastically. “It taps into my education background, and of course NSP has been part of my life for many years. I’m passionate about the programs NSP offers, and am excited to review the ones that need to be updated and disseminate new knowledge to other NSP members. I want to be a face and name for all NSP members to reach out to regarding NSP education programs.”
