Aspiring Stylists Can Create Cool Snowboarding Looks at Polyvore.com for a Chance to be published in Snowboarder Girl!
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (Aug. 6, 2010) - Snowboarder Magazine is excited to announce a unique partnership with Polyvore.com, the world's largest fashion community online, in which a contest will allow snowboarding fans and aspiring fashionistas to create super-pipe or super-primp "looks" using styles from the sport's leading clothing brands. The contest will run Aug. 7-10 after which the three top looks, will be judged by three professional snowboarders. The winners will be published in the Oct. 5, 2010 issue of Snowboarder Girl and each will receive a $200 gift card.
"All it took was five minutes of clicking around Polyvore's site to realize they have an amazing tool, which provides an immersive experience for people to really engage with brand's products," said Chris Engelsman, Publisher of Snowboarder Magazine. "We are stoked to be able to provide an opportunity for members of Polyvore's community to gain additional fame by being published in Snowboarder Girl and lend their talents to help other female snowboarders look good on the hills this winter."
Participants will be able to select from 32 fresh new styles, as chosen by professional snowboarders Erin Comstock, Gabi Viteri and Jamie Anderson. Participating brands include Burton, Oakley, Billabong, Roxy and Nike 6.0. Comstock, Viteri and Anderson will then judge the looks and choose their favorite outfits, which will receive major national exposure by being published in the October 5th issue of Snowboarder Girl. SnowboarderMag.com will serve as a resource to contestants where they can find great winter scenes and shots of the judges to clip in and use in their sets.
