From Mt. High –
Wrightwood, Calif. - Dec. 6, 2017 - Mountain High successfully opened today for the 2017-18 winter season. Roughly 1,000 guests donned skis and snowboards to hit the slopes for the first winter session of the season. This marks the 18th time in the past 20 years that Mountain High has been the first resort to open in Southern California.
"Opening day is officially here," said John McColly, Mountain High chief marketing officer. "It took a little longer this winter, but it was well worth the wait. With so much snowmaking having recently taken place, opening day conditions are the best that we have seen here in years."
Current operating hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The North Pole Tubing Park is scheduled to open on Saturday, December 16.
Early season ticket rates are just $49 for adults (regularly $99), $25 for children 12-and-under and $29 for nights from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Kids six-and-under ski free with a paying adult. The Blue Ridge Express and Coyote chairlifts are running to provide access for beginner to intermediate terrain at Mountain High's West Resort. Top-to-bottom terrain features also line the runs. Mountain High expects to have even more of its beginner terrain available with the addition of Snowflake and Easy Street by the upcoming weekend.
All amenities are available including lessons, rentals, retails and repair. The Foggy Goggle, Mountain High's slope-side bar, is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the Bullwheel Grill will open this coming weekend.
