A special after party featuring Fortress, the metal band of Standard Films' founders Mike and Dave Hatchett, completes the evening of snowboard cinema and live music
[North Lake Tahoe, CA] September 15, 2010 – The West Coast Premiere of Standard Films' THE STORMING featuring an After Party with Fortress rocks the Resort at Squaw Creek in Squaw Valley, CA on Saturday, September 18. An institution in action sports, Standard Films has been capturing the essence of snowboarding since 1991, beginning with the iconic "TB" series that defined a genre of filmmaking. The newest HD film by Mike Hatchett and Travis Robb, THE STORMING marks the 19th annual release from Standard Films. Following the showing of THE STORMING, Standard Films' founders Mike and Dave Hatchett make heads bang with a special after party featuring their band Fortress.
Doors open at 7:45 pm and the show starts at 9 pm. Tickets are on sale now at all Porter's locations (Tahoe City, Truckee, Incline Village) for $8 (in advance) or $10 at the door. A cash bar is available during the film and Fortress After Party for those 21+ with valid I.D. Premiere-goers can get discounted rates on rooms for Saturday night at the Resort at Squaw Creek by calling (800) 401-9501.
Formed by snowboard film pioneers Mike and Dave Hatchett, FORTRESS has been delivering explosive performances of original and cover music for nearly twenty years. Songs include covers from Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and originals inspired by these bands. Fronting the band is Jeff Martin from Racer X and Whitfield Crane from Ugly Kid Joe. Together their vocal talents can shatter glass (which there's no shortage of at the beautiful black-glass Resort at Squaw Creek).
Special guests attending the West Coast Premiere are THE STORMING crew of Mike Hatchett and Travis Rob, and riders Torstein Horgmo, Lonnie Kauk, Sammy Luebke and Kimmy Fasani.
Additional premiere dates for Standard Films' THE STORMING include Saturday, October 9 at the Xtreme Sports Bar & Lounge, Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, NV and Friday, October 22 at the Montbleu Resort in South Lake Tahoe.
