The Cold Front Tour Seattle Stop—Photo Recap

To do something a bit different than the standard “Look over here for the recap” photos that we have been doing for years, SNOWBOARDER Editor T.Bird started shooting double exposures of the movie screen to spare you, the reader, a monotonous scroll through FOMO inducing party photos. the rest of the staff started following suit but what we did not expect, was it to spark even more FOMO for riding. Winter is coming up quick and we are getting the itch. Taking a photo of snowboarding inside of a dark room isn’t nearly as much fun as being out in the elements. At least for now premieres mirror après-hill drinks, and we can ride vicariously through the films on a big screen, but it won’t be too much longer until the itch turns into a full on burn and these premiere posts will turn into session recaps. But until then…

The Seattle stop of the #ColdFrontTour brought out a ton of our PNW favorites. With the double feature of The SNOWBOARDER Movie: Beta and Kamikazu headlining the night, the Ark Lodge Cinemas just outside downtown Seattle could have dropped the cinema with the amount of pro riders spotted under it’s marquee. Beta’s Jacob Krugmire was joined once again by Kazikamu starts Kazu, Blair Habenicht and Austin Hironaka to premiere their movie to a packed house. Aside them in the seats, Peter Line, Jesse Burtner, Patrick McCarthy, and plenty more sat down for the showing presented by 10 Barrel Brewing, Ikon Pass, and Dragon Alliance. Per the multiple standing ovations amongst many in the crowd, we’d say it was a good time and the movies stoked the scene getting ready for laps at Mt. Baker, Stevens Pass, Snoqalmie, and Alpental. We just want to give a big thank you to everyone that attended, and we hope to see you again once there is snow on the ground! Next stop, Salt Lake!
