Photo Recap—Summer Snowboarding Session 1 at High Cascade
Words by Harrison Shaw
High Cascade Session One set the bar high, and if the rest of the summer is anything like this past week, it's going to be one for the books. On June 17, Christmas came early for our campers who stormed the new demo center and camp outpost, eager to feast their eyes on all the new products for this coming year. Signature Session Pros Mike Ravelson, Johnny O'Connor, Erik Leon, Mary Rand and Forest Bailey were firing on all cylinders on the glacier, but they didn't stop there. Back on campus at the Concrete Jungle, every inch of transition was exploited. Head gear was in high demand because jaws were left dropped and drooling all week.
The sheer elevation of Mt. Hood ensured that our campers experienced nothing but bluebird skies on hill. Any clouds that could be seen looked as if they were a blanket stretched out across the horizon miles below the lane. Off hill, campers gave the staff a run for their money in the Adidas Dodgeball Arena by slinging hot lava at unsuspecting staff members. The skating impressed on all fronts as well. From watching the face melting Concrete Jungle Skate Jam and the exclusive ladies only session held in our indoor facility, it's safe to say that the future is looking bright.
