2018-2019 Burton Qualifiers Tour Stop 5: Japan

Stop 5 of the Burton Qualifiers tour just wrapped up its first-ever visit to Japan and as you might imagine, it was snowing like crazy. Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort hosted the hotline setup, and while this region is no stranger to deep pow, the up-and-coming talent on hand proved that the park scene is nothing to scoff at. With a chunk of the tour's $30,000 USD prize purse on the line, it was cool to witness progression in real-time as the riders fed off the energy and put down some hammers.

The forecast called for brutal cold, high winds, and heavy snow, but that didn't seem to stop anyone. These riders are tough as nails. Oh, and did we mention that this was the only Qualifiers stop held under the lights? A cool scene to say the least. In the end, the top three in both the Open and 15 & Under divisions walked away with cash, while the top six in each division got an invite to the tour finals at Seven Springs, Pennsylvania.

Japan was the fifth of seven Burton Qualifiers stops. For full tour info and to see where we're heading next, visit BurtonQualifiers.com.
