There is no better way to spend the eve of New Year’s Eve than with a bunch of friends snowboarding, and that is exactly what over 70 riders did at Bear Mountain this past weekend for the first Adidas Das Tables event of the season! The grassroots tour started last season with three stops, and back by popular demand, will ring in the new year with added stops for 2018! Free for all ages, with a chance to win $3,000 in cash as well as plenty of fresh Adidas and SNOWBOARDER Mag gear, Bear Mountain is just the beginning. Other stops will include Eldora Mountain, Brighton, Hyland Hills and more! Check out the video recap above, as well as photos and a recap from both sessions below, and keep an eye out for when Das Tables drops in near you!

Under the watchful eye of Keegan Valaika, Alex “Littlest” Sherman, and Lenny Mazzotti, who made up the judging panel, the crew for the first stop at Bear Mountain did not disappoint. With a morning session consisting of offset up and down tables and an afternoon session taking a straighter approach, riders like Drayden Gardner, Denver Orr, Brett Wilkinson, Justin Mulford, Melissa Evans, Ian Sams, Johnny Hancheck, Johnny Miller, Daniel Brown, Jonathon “Mamba” McDonald, Buzz Holbrook and plenty more were going off. After plenty of sunscreen was applied, bounty tricks were called out by the judges during the all out jam for a chance to win hoodies, hats, and a plethora of gear from Adidas and SNOWBOARDER. The park crew did an insane job on the setup, possibly boasting the quickest turnaround time yet! The first session lasted a little under two hours, and then during the hour break the tables were rearranged for a brand new set up to ride as the sun went down. Bindings were optional, and Johnny Miller stepped it up by unstrapping and winning best trick in the morning and afternoon with a 50-50 shove-it off the table and multiple combinations of hippy hops to the delight of the crowd.

Other shout outs go to Buzz Holbrook for boosting the farthest off the tables for the biggest air on the day, as well as James Taylor (SNOWBOARDER’s In-house Computer Nerd) for switching from Microsoft Excel tables to the Das Tables to handle business for the weekend.

When it was all said and done, the morning session crowned Drayden Gardner, Denver Orr, and Brett Wilkinson as their top three, and Brett Wilkinson, Denver Orr, and Ian Sams for the top riders in the afternoon! The top women’s honors went to Melissa Evans for both, and Johnny Miller took home Best Trick. Thanks to everyone that came out, DJ SlipMatt for the music, and a huge thanks to adidas Snowboarding and Bear Mountain for making it happen and ending the year on a high note! See you all at the next Das Tables on January 20, 2018 at Eldora Mountain Resort in Colorado!
