THE BURTON QUALIFIERS ARE BACK FOR 2019!

Calling all up-and-coming riders! The Burton Qualifiers is the premiere amateur snowboard contest series offering local riders of all abilities and ages the chance to come together for a fun day of riding, cash prizes and the opportunity to go all the way to the finals! Now in its fourth season, the FREE Burton Qualifiers series continues to grow with the addition of two new international stops and a huge increase in the already record prize purse with $30,000 USD in cash on the line.

For the 2018-19 tour, Burton continues to expand this now global series partnering with five of North America's most-dedicated snowboard resorts, plus the addition of two new international resorts in China and Japan. These seven handpicked resorts promise to deliver the ideal conditions for up-and-coming riders to excel and progress on a creative setup. Competitors can look forward to sculpted transitions, custom-built jibs and rails, as well as one-off features unique to each resort.

The Burton Qualifiers series features six semi-final events with the opportunity to advance to the final event at Seven Springs, Pennsylvania. Free to enter, the tour is open to the first 100 riders to register for each of the semi-final events, with $3,000 USD up for grabs at each semi-final stop. Riders have the option of competing in two divisions—Open and 15 & Under. Riders in each division will compete in an hour-long, jam-style format that encourages competition, progression, camaraderie and fun. A handpicked panel of judges will base their scoring on style, trick execution and creative use of the course. The top-three riders in each division win cash prizes, with the top six riders earning an invitation to advance to the finals event to compete for a piece of the $10,000 USD cash purse at Seven Springs, Pennsylvania.

New to this year's tour is Genting Snow Parks, a snowy mountain resort northwest of Beijing, China chosen as an upcoming venue for the Beijing 2022 Olympics. Goryu Resort in Japan hosts another new stop, this resort is part of the vast Hakuba mountain resort network in the Japanese Alps. The returning venues spaced across the U.S. and Canada continue to guarantee amateur riders from coast to coast a proven, nearby competition venue to throw down at.

Every stop of the Burton Qualifiers will include live event announcing to enhance the spectator experience and add to the already fun atmosphere. Competitors in the Burton Qualifiers series will also be featured in complete online event coverage on Burton.com and in partnership with us here at Snowboarder Magazine. And of course, the winners will be announced during an awards ceremony at each stop with cash prizes handed out!

Congratulations to our 2018 Burton Qualifiers Final winners—Brent Behm, who won the Open Division, and Jack Coyne, who won the 15 & Under division for the second consecutive year. The slate is wiped clean for the 2019 series—will you be the next overall Burton Qualifiers champion?

Registrations for each stop will be from 10:00am–11:00am on the day of the event, please arrive early to register as participation is capped at 100 riders per stop.
