Every single place likes to trumpet its adversities: Colorado boasts of its intense altitude, the East Coast touts its iciness, the Midwest gloats over its insane frigidity. But no matter what, in essence, Alaska, The Last Frontier, with outrageously bleak winters, the slimmest of sunlight, and in some parts little snow, takes the cake of trials and tribulations. Filming a full urban part in such inhospitable conditions is no mean feat. Yet Caleb Kinnear, at just 16 years old, spent his winter collecting clips in the Anchorage environs and the stuff he produced is not only passable, but pretty damn on point.
