This past Saturday, 10 Barrel Brewing put on their final stop of the 2018 Hella Big Air contest at Mt. Bachelor, just a few miles outside of where 10 Barrel all began 12 years ago in Bend, Oregon. With families, riders, and industry folk all in tow, we couldn’t imagine a much better way to spend the weekend. Just like the title, it was a hella good time from start to finish with a crowd that seemed very excited to follow the banners that just simply read “Drink Beer Outside.” But moving away from the packed beer garden, which sat in the shadow of the 80 foot jump, the main event was quite the spectacle.

From the title of this post, you already know the outcome. U.S. Team rider and 2018 Winter Olympian Chris Corning came in and took the top spot, capitalized with a back triple cork 1440. But what you don’t know is how it all came to fruition. Eddie Wall and Ben Ferguson were in the booth calling drops, while the field of ten riders threw their best stuff for the judges and the crowd. The field included Sean Neary, Nik Baden, Dru Brownrigg, Ryan Staseel, Jared Elston, Austin Visintaine, John Olmsted and more, all charging full speed over the roller to clear the monstrous kicker built by the Mt. Bachelor crew. Scoring on a combined score format, the best of two runs were added up to tally up the winners. Full video replay of the event below:

When it was all said and done, Chris Corning, Sean Neary, and Austin Visintaine took home the top spots, along with the cash. Corning, who also won the Copper stop in Colorado made a solid addition to his piggy bank this year with a cool $10k courtesy of the nice people over at 10 Barrel. Another huge thank you for putting on such an awesome event, and we couldn’t be more stoked to drive up to Bachelor for another solid event! Hope to see you all next year!
