Dave Mccoy, who founded the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area around the same time the U.S. entered World War II, had plans to connect June Mountain to Mammoth Mountain but never ended up doing so. That being said, others have taken it upon themselves to trek out the connection. Frank Knab, Jimmy Goodman, Nick Schneider, Brian Sizer, Gabe Taylor, and Chris Wellhausen had one goal, retrace the possible route and ride as much terrain as possible! The San Joaquin Ridge became the m.o. and the crew set out for the hike!
Leaving at six in the morning and not returning until seven at night, the crew covered about thirteen miles and rode down six faces… check out the video from Greg Weaver above!
