Jamboree And Videotron Are Back In Quebec City For The UNMARKED Video Contest
VOTE FOR A VIDEO IN THE POST.
From Jamboree and Videotron:
Snowboard video contest showcasing the best of the Quebec backcountry.
Quebec City, Wednesday, January 23, 2019 – Powder hounds know there's nothing quite like the call of the fresh stuff, and that's the stoke the riders in this year's UNMARKED presented by Vidéotron video contest will be sharing with spectators and online viewers as part of the 2019 Jamboree festival. When all eight videos showcasing the pinnacle of backcountry expeditions in Quebec are posted online at the beginning of March, everyone will be encouraged to vote for their favorite flick, then the winning team of athletes and videographers will be crowned at the 2019 Jamboree. All eight videos will also be screened on the night of the Big Air World Cup Finals on March 16, right after the Freestyle Big Air Final. Prepare to feast your eyes on some breathtaking images of sick powder, tricks and adventure!
The video recruiter (Alex Cantin) is stoked to be back on board with the UNMARKED project this year. "Last year it was so sweet to take a tour with the video teams of some of the most stunning backcountry playgrounds Quebec has to offer," JF said. "They really set the bar high in terms of the imagery and the calibre of the riding, so we can't wait to see what the teams have in store this year."
Les Prospecteurs, Les Dameuses and the Northern Explorers get to challenge last year's snowboard category champions Les Épicuriens de la glisse. After last year's male-dominated competition, the organizers are pleased to announce a female contingent for 2019 as many of the ski and snowboard teams now feature women athletes too.
The viewers get to decide who wins.
Hot on the heels of the huge viewer participation in the 2018 contest, this year's UNMARKED is putting the power in the public's hands again to decide on the best video. Fans can check out the Jamboree Facebook page at the beginning of March to watch the videos and "like" their favorite short film.
The team that wins the people's vote in the snowboard categories gets to walk away with $1,500 in prize money to share. And that’s not all—there's also $1,000 in prize money up for grabs with the Vidéotron Top Pick Award for the best video and storyline. That's a total prize purse of $4,000 for the 2019 UNMARKED contest!
