SNOWBOARDER Magazine’s unbiased blank snowboard test, The Blackboard Experiment. Ten snowboard brands provided us with a snowboard of their choice, but the one caveat was that it had to have a black topsheet and base graphic, so as to keep the anonymity of the brand only between them and us. Sage Kotsenburg, 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic gold medalist tested every deck, putting it through the paces in Mammoth Mountain’s hallowed Main Park.
The above video features the snowboard Sage deemed the Best Overall 2017 Snowboard, the Salomon Huck Knife. It’s not surprising that a snowboard designed with and tested by Hans and Nils Mindnich would perform in the park. In order to meet the standard of the Mindnich brothers, the Huck Knife has to be able to destroy jibs, float over jumps, go edge-to-edge flawlessly, and even soar out of pipe walls when required. Olympic gold medalist Sage Kotsenburg agrees, as he deemed the Huck Knife his favorite all-around snowboard of The Blackboard Experiment. Even better the board is priced at $429.95, making it a deck you can get your hands on without having to break the bank.
