The Coat Check 2019—The Volcom GPT Guide GORE-TEX Jacket

SNOWBOARDER Magazine traveled all the way to Baldface Lodge high above Nelson, BC to experience some all-time cat boarding while getting a first look at how 8 new high-end men's jackets perform when navigating storm conditions, descending waist deep pow and keeping us composed despite our succumbing to the froth effect. Check out the specs below!

GPT stands for Guide Proven Technology and it denotes a partnership between Volcom Outerwear and the stoic backcountry Shangri-La of Baldface Lodge. While the Baldface guides avow to keep their customers safe while fostering an epic experience, they have in turn infused this same ethos into the GPT garments. More than "dropping knowledge" we're talking about "drop in knowledge" as seen in the practical ergonomics of the Guide Jackets map and radio chest pockets as well as the whistle pulls on the zippers. Snowcats, two-week storm cycles and car bombs not included.

Volcom Says:
Don't skip out when it comes to your jacket; this guide-level shell is engineered to prevent soak-throughs so you can ride harder for longer without the slightest hiccup.
