Lexus teased the technological advancement of their hoverboard a few months ago, and now they’ve released a video of the board in action. Ross McGouran takes the hoverboard for a spin in a specially-made skatepark lined with metal underneath, so that the complex superconductors and magnets are able to properly allow the board to float a few inches off the ground. And while, yes it’s impressive that a hoverboard exists–even one with a fair amount of constraints–watching the video, even with its kicky soundtrack, it doesn’t really look very fun. Maybe the hoverbord just needs a few tweaks–we have pretty high standards of the how rad one should be and consensus is that (so far) Michael J. Fox did it way better. Maybe some things are better left to the movies…at least for now.
Digital remastery is really something.
