While we have been sitting up here in The States waiting for winter, the season in the Southern Hemi, specifically in Australia, has been firing. This past weekend, Thredbo Resort in the Snowy Mountains held a new event in partnership with Volcom, called Tranny Fest. Check out the video above and a few photos below, along with a recap from Thredbo.

From Thredbo:

Over the weekend, Thredbo joined forces with Volcom to put on a 3-day festival of non-stop snowboarding, demos, live music, parties and all day sessions in Australia's first ever top to bottom transition styled park. It was all about catching air, finding tranny and rockin' out all weekend long! This made for one wild and unforgettable weekend of riding with friends, slashing up a storm and hot lapping the fun and stoke-filled set up with hundreds of snowboarders in attendance. Volcom brought down their pro skate, snow and surf team to keep the good vibes flowing all weekend, including Scotty James, Valentino Guseli, Joss McAlpine, Noa Deane, Ozzie Wright, Reece Warren, Shane Azar and Ethan Copeland. Once the shredding and slashing was done for the day, the action didn't stop...it was all about rockin' out with the spring vibes in the air. The Volcom pro skate demo put on a heated demo in Thredbo's skate park, where boarders watched in awe as the team shredded the setup apart. On Saturday night, there was no time for sleep as The Goons of Doom and Blistar hit stage in the Keller Bar for a massive night of garage tunes, surf rock and non-stop partying...what a way to end an incredible couple days of snowboarding and celebrations. With a fresh dusting of snow overnight on Saturday, conditions were awesome on Sunday for a spring shred. A nice dusting of light dry snow meant that all boarders scored some powder stashes up high before heading back in the Tranny Fest Park for a final rip and tear on all the features! Thanks to the awesome efforts of the Thredbo Terrain Park team, the setup will remain as is until the season comes to a close on October 1. There's still 2 weeks left to come and get your shred on in the park...come up and enjoy slashing and surfing your way through spring!
